About the Site
To have a Berean faith is to have the kind of faith that is accompanied by an unquenchable desire to know the Word of God. Folks with Berean faith are driven by the need to not merely accept teachings at face value, but to discern them against the Word to see if they are in concert with scripture as a whole.
This is based on Acts 17:11, where Luke tells of the noble Bereans who did not blindly follow the words of the apostles, but sought the scriptures daily to see if what they were saying was true, and 1 John 4:1 where Paul reiterates the importance of this by saying that believers should test every teaching to see if it is from God. When Jesus was confronted by satan (Matthew 4), He could have responded with new and groundbreaking teachings, but He didn't. On each challenge, his response was, "it is written". In Psalm 138:2, we see that the Lord has put His Word above even his name!
It is for these reasons that this website exists, as the purpose of this site is to encourage believers to study the Word of God and to equip them to discern teachings that may be contrary to scripture. The works on this site include apologetics information about various faiths and practices and where their doctrines deviate from biblical Christianity, articles written on various biblical topics with present day applications, and the ever-popular Word of Faith section which showcases the teachings and beliefs of this movement.
May the Lord bless and strengthen those who diligently search His Word!
